UPPERDHESKA PROJECT U.P.S.: A Rural Primary School in Odisha

Nestled within the rural landscape of Odisha, UPPERDHESKA PROJECT U.P.S. stands as a beacon of education for the local community. This government-run primary school, established in 1962, caters to students from Class 1 to Class 7, offering both primary and upper primary education.

The school boasts four classrooms, ensuring a conducive learning environment for its students. Recognizing the importance of sanitation, the school provides separate toilets for boys and girls. Although lacking a boundary wall, the school prioritizes student safety with its well-equipped library. With a collection of 600 books, students have access to a wealth of knowledge.

UPPERDHESKA PROJECT U.P.S. operates under the management of the Department of Education and adheres to the Odia medium of instruction. The school boasts a dedicated staff of two teachers, including both male and female educators. The school, which operates as a co-educational institution, offers a meal program for its students, with meals prepared and provided on school premises.

Despite the lack of electricity and computer-aided learning facilities, the school actively strives to provide quality education. The school has taken steps to ensure inclusivity, but lacks ramps for disabled students. Furthermore, the school does not offer pre-primary education, nor is it a residential school.

While the absence of a playground might limit recreational opportunities, the school compensates by offering a library and a rich learning environment. The school strives to instill a strong foundation in its students, preparing them for future academic endeavors. Although the school operates under the “Others” board for Class 10 and Class 10+2, it continues to provide a valuable education for the local community.

The school’s commitment to education shines through its dedicated staff, its commitment to providing a safe and nurturing learning environment, and its unwavering focus on student development. Despite the challenges faced by rural schools, UPPERDHESKA PROJECT U.P.S. plays a vital role in shaping the future of its students, contributing to the educational landscape of Odisha.
