SILTIGUDA P.S.: A Rural Primary School in Odisha

Nestled in the heart of Odisha, SILTIGUDA P.S. stands as a beacon of education for the local community. This government-run primary school, established in 1973, caters to students from Class 1 to Class 5, providing them with a foundation in basic literacy and numeracy.

The school, located in a rural area, is a co-educational institution with two classrooms, equipped with a library that houses an impressive collection of 309 books. While the school does not have a playground, it offers ramps for students with disabilities, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.

The school is managed by the Department of Education and follows the Odia medium of instruction. Notably, the school provides meals for its students, prepared on-site.

Although SILTIGUDA P.S. does not offer pre-primary education or computer-aided learning, it boasts a dedicated staff of two teachers, both female. The school also features a library with 309 books, encouraging a love for reading amongst the students.

The school’s commitment to providing quality education is evident in its infrastructure, which includes barbed wire fencing for security and separate toilets for boys and girls. However, the school lacks access to electricity, which presents a significant challenge for the students and teachers.

Despite the absence of some modern amenities, SILTIGUDA P.S. plays a crucial role in the lives of its students and the community. The school’s dedication to education, coupled with its commitment to inclusivity and the provision of meals, makes it an important resource for the rural community.

The school’s lack of electricity and computer-aided learning facilities underscores the need for further development and investment in infrastructure. However, the presence of a well-stocked library and dedicated teachers bodes well for the future of this rural school.

As the school continues to educate the youth of the region, its impact on the community is immeasurable. It provides not only academic knowledge but also a space for social interaction and development, nurturing future generations and contributing to the growth of the rural community.
