SH. BAJARANG UPS: A Rural Upper Primary School in Uttar Pradesh

SH. BAJARANG UPS, located in the SARILA block of HAMIRPUR (U.P.) district in Uttar Pradesh, is a private, unaided upper primary school established in 2006. Situated in a rural area, the school caters to students in grades 6 to 8, offering a co-educational learning environment.

Despite being a private school, SH. BAJARANG UPS does not have a pre-primary section, focusing solely on upper primary education. Instruction is delivered in Hindi, and the school utilizes a building owned by the private management. This building boasts four classrooms, all in good condition, along with two additional rooms for non-teaching activities and a dedicated space for the head teacher.

While the school has a playground for recreational activities, it does not have a boundary wall, a library, or an electrical connection. The lack of a library means the school has no books available for students. However, SH. BAJARANG UPS does have a tap water source for drinking, which is operational.

In terms of facilities, the school has two functional computers for teaching and learning purposes, but it lacks a dedicated computer-aided learning lab. There are also no contract teachers employed at the school, with the teaching staff consisting of six male teachers. The school does not provide mid-day meals to its students, as it is not applicable.

Accessibility for disabled students is limited as the school does not have ramps for easy access to classrooms. However, SH. BAJARANG UPS boasts two functioning girls’ toilets, ensuring basic sanitation for its female students.

The school’s academic session begins in April, and it is accessible by all-weather roads. This accessibility is crucial for students residing in the rural area surrounding the school, allowing them to reach the institution easily.

SH. BAJARANG UPS, though lacking certain facilities common in modern schools, strives to provide quality education to its students. Its dedicated teaching staff and commitment to delivering instruction in Hindi contribute to creating a positive learning environment for the children of the community. While the school could benefit from the addition of a library, computer lab, and boundary wall, its focus on providing accessible, upper primary education in a rural setting makes it an important resource for the local community.
