PS. BHOYAS: A Primary School in Rural Uttar Pradesh

Located in the DEHGANWAN block of BUDAUN district, Uttar Pradesh, PS. BHOYAS is a primary school established in 1950 and managed by the Department of Education. Situated in a rural area, this co-educational school offers education for students from Class 1 to Class 5.

The school building is government-owned and boasts eight classrooms in good condition, along with two additional rooms for non-teaching activities. A separate room for the headmaster/teacher ensures adequate administrative space. While there is no boundary wall, the school does have a playground, a library stocked with 35 books, and a functional hand pump for drinking water.

For the comfort and hygiene of students, PS. BHOYAS features one functional boys’ toilet and one functional girls’ toilet. The school’s academic session commences in April, and Hindi is the primary medium of instruction. Students at PS. BHOYAS benefit from a mid-day meal program, ensuring their nutritional needs are met while they learn.

PS. BHOYAS is easily accessible via an all-weather road, making it convenient for students and their families to reach the school. However, the school currently lacks electricity and computer-aided learning facilities.

While the school provides a solid foundation for young students, it is evident that PS. BHOYAS could benefit from improvements in infrastructure and technology. With access to electricity and computers, students could be exposed to a broader range of educational resources and opportunities.

The dedication of the school’s four teachers, consisting of three male teachers and one female teacher, is commendable, and their efforts are essential in providing quality education to the students. The school’s focus on delivering a comprehensive learning experience through its library, playground, and mid-day meal program highlights the commitment to students’ well-being.

Despite the limitations, PS. BHOYAS serves as a crucial resource for primary education in the rural community, providing students with access to foundational knowledge and a nurturing environment. It is hopeful that future investments will enable the school to further enhance its infrastructure and equip its students with the tools they need to succeed in the 21st century.
