P.S.YAKUT GANJ: A Rural Primary School in Uttar Pradesh

Nestled in the MASAULI block of BARABANKI district in Uttar Pradesh, P.S.YAKUT GANJ stands as a testament to the commitment to primary education in rural India. Established in 1959, the school operates under the management of the Department of Education and caters to students from grades 1 to 5.

The school, located in a rural area, is a co-educational institution and provides a conducive learning environment for young minds. Hindi serves as the primary language of instruction, ensuring effective communication and understanding.

P.S.YAKUT GANJ boasts a well-maintained building with four classrooms, all in excellent condition. There are two additional rooms dedicated to non-teaching activities, further enhancing the school’s facilities. The school building lacks a boundary wall, but it does have a playground, offering ample space for physical activity and recreation.

The school’s infrastructure also includes a library, stocked with 100 books, and access to clean drinking water through hand pumps. Hygiene and sanitation are prioritized with three functional boys’ toilets and three functional girls’ toilets.

While the school does not have electricity, it remains committed to providing a comfortable learning environment. The school’s focus on basic education is further evident in its provision of mid-day meals, ensuring students have a nutritious meal during their school day.

The school’s teaching staff comprises four dedicated teachers, including two male and two female educators. The school, however, does not have a dedicated computer lab or access to computers, indicating a potential area for improvement in the future.

Despite the absence of computers, the school emphasizes a strong foundation in basic education, ensuring students develop essential skills and knowledge. The absence of a pre-primary section and the lack of a pre-primary teacher suggest the school focuses on primary education, providing students with a solid foundation for their future academic journeys.

Despite some limitations, P.S.YAKUT GANJ plays a pivotal role in providing access to primary education for children in the rural area. Its commitment to offering a safe, clean, and conducive learning environment for students is reflected in its facilities, infrastructure, and dedicated teachers.
