P.S KHARGOO SARAI: A Rural Primary School in Uttar Pradesh

P.S KHARGOO SARAI, a government-run primary school, stands as a beacon of education in the rural heartland of Uttar Pradesh. Established in 1996, the school caters to children from Class 1 to Class 5, providing them with a foundation for their academic journey.

Located in the TELIYANI block of FATEHPUR district, the school operates as a co-educational institution, offering a welcoming environment for both boys and girls. Interestingly, the school also has a pre-primary section, making it a comprehensive educational hub for young learners.

The school’s infrastructure reflects its commitment to providing a conducive learning environment. It boasts four well-maintained classrooms, two additional rooms for non-teaching activities, and a separate room for the headmaster or teacher. While the school lacks a boundary wall, it has a functional playground where students can engage in physical activities.

Despite lacking an electricity connection, P.S KHARGOO SARAI ensures that students have access to clean drinking water through hand pumps. The school also prioritizes sanitation with one functional boys’ toilet and one functional girls’ toilet. However, the school currently lacks a library and computers, which can be a challenge in the digital age.

Despite these limitations, the school has implemented a vital program – providing a mid-day meal prepared on the school premises, ensuring that students receive a nutritious meal during their time at school. While the school does not have computers for teaching and learning, it also lacks a computer-aided learning lab.

The school’s commitment to inclusivity is evident in its provision of ramps for disabled children, ensuring their accessibility within the school premises. The absence of a school library and computers may pose challenges, but the school’s focus on providing a basic education, a safe environment, and a nourishing meal makes it a vital asset to the local community.

With a dedicated team of two female teachers, the school is committed to fostering a nurturing and educational space for young minds. As a non-Ashram type (Govt.) school, it provides a valuable service to the rural community, paving the way for a brighter future for the children in its care.
