JHS BASTIDEYEE: A Rural Upper Primary School in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh

JHS BASTIDEYEE, located in the GAURIGANJ block of AMETHI CSM NAGAR district in Uttar Pradesh, is a government-run upper primary school established in 2008. Situated in a rural area, the school caters to students in grades 6 to 8, offering education in Hindi.

The school is co-educational, with a total of two teachers, two male and no female. Despite being a government-run school, JHS BASTIDEYEE does not have a pre-primary section. This means that students enter the school at the 6th grade level and are prepared for the upper primary curriculum.

The school utilizes a government-owned building, equipped with four classrooms in good condition. The school’s building lacks a boundary wall and does not have access to electricity. However, it does have hand pumps for drinking water, which are in working condition.

While the school lacks a library and playground, it provides essential facilities like toilets for both boys and girls. These are also functional, highlighting the school’s commitment to basic student needs.

JHS BASTIDEYEE also offers a midday meal program, ensuring that students have access to nutritious food while at school. The program ensures that meals are prepared and provided on the school premises, highlighting a commitment to the well-being of its students.

However, despite these efforts, the school faces challenges. There are no computers available for teaching and learning, nor is there a computer-aided learning lab. This underscores the need for further investment to ensure the school remains relevant in a rapidly changing educational landscape.

The school’s lack of a boundary wall also raises concerns about safety and security. With no electricity access, students rely on daylight for evening studies, limiting learning opportunities after school hours.

Despite these challenges, JHS BASTIDEYEE serves as a vital educational resource for students in its rural location. The school’s focus on basic infrastructure and a midday meal program demonstrates a commitment to providing a basic education to its students. As the school strives to improve its resources and facilities, it holds the potential to further empower its students and contribute to the community’s educational development.
