SILAD HIGH SCHOOL: A Rural Educational Hub in Odisha

Nestled in the rural landscape of Odisha, SILAD HIGH SCHOOL stands as a beacon of education, serving the community with its upper primary and secondary classes (grades 6-10). Established in 1995, the school is managed by the Department of Education and provides a co-educational learning environment for students.

The school building, though privately owned, boasts two classrooms equipped with basic amenities like toilets for both boys and girls. While the school does not have access to electricity or computer-aided learning facilities, it offers a well-stocked library with over 215 books and a playground for recreational activities. The students also have access to hand pumps for clean drinking water.

SILAD HIGH SCHOOL prioritizes the learning experience with a dedicated team of eight teachers, comprising seven male and one female teacher. Instruction is primarily delivered in Odia, ensuring that students receive quality education in their native language. The school offers a comprehensive curriculum, culminating in the State Board examinations for Class 10. Students who wish to pursue further education have the option of joining other educational boards for their Class 10+2 studies.

The school’s commitment to providing a holistic learning experience is further emphasized by the provision of meals for students, though these meals are not prepared on the school premises. This ensures that students are not only provided with quality education but also with the nourishment they need to thrive.

The school’s infrastructure, while basic, is sufficient to cater to the needs of the students. The building has a pucca structure, though some repairs are required. The school’s location in a rural area highlights its crucial role in providing educational opportunities to students from surrounding villages.

Despite the lack of some modern amenities, SILAD HIGH SCHOOL shines as a pillar of education in the community. The dedication of the teachers, the well-stocked library, and the focus on providing a conducive learning environment all contribute to the school’s success in nurturing young minds. The school’s commitment to quality education and its positive impact on the local community make it a valuable asset to the region.
