Raigoda PS: A Rural Primary School in Odisha

Raigoda PS is a government-run primary school located in Odisha, India. Established in 1952, the school serves the rural community, offering education from Class 1 to Class 5.

The school, designated as “21150101901”, is a co-educational institution, with a total of two male teachers. Instruction is conducted in Odia, and the school provides meals prepared on its premises.

Learning Environment and Facilities:

Despite its rural setting, Raigoda PS boasts a small library containing 99 books. The school also provides drinking water from a well. However, the school currently lacks electricity, a computer lab, and boundary walls. It has one classroom each for boys and girls, along with separate toilets for each gender.

Educational Focus and Curriculum:

Raigoda PS focuses solely on primary education, offering instruction from Class 1 to Class 5. The school follows the Odia medium of instruction. While there is no mention of a pre-primary section, the school does mention participation in “Others” boards for Class 10th and 10+2. This suggests that the school may offer support for students preparing for these exams, despite not directly offering those grades.

Future Developments:

Raigoda PS lacks several essential facilities, including electricity, computer labs, and a playground. Implementing these features would significantly enhance the learning environment and provide students with access to modern resources.

Community Engagement:

The school’s focus on providing meals prepared on-site demonstrates its commitment to the local community. This initiative ensures students receive proper nourishment and supports their overall well-being.

Accessibility and Inclusivity:

While the school has separate toilets for boys and girls, it lacks ramps for disabled students. Adding these ramps would improve the school’s accessibility and inclusivity, making it more welcoming to all students.

Raigoda PS: A Vital Resource for Rural Education

Despite its limited resources, Raigoda PS plays a crucial role in providing primary education to students in a rural area. By investing in additional facilities, enhancing its resources, and prioritizing student well-being, Raigoda PS can become a model for rural education in Odisha.
