PMV MACHHARIHA: A Rural Upper Primary School in Uttar Pradesh

PMV MACHHARIHA, located in the CHITRAKOOT district of Uttar Pradesh, is a government-run upper primary school catering to students from grades 6 to 8. Established in 2009, the school serves the rural community and provides education to both boys and girls.

The school operates under the Department of Education and boasts a total of three dedicated teachers, including two male and one female teacher. Hindi is the medium of instruction, ensuring accessibility for all students in the area. The school’s academic session begins in April, following the traditional Indian academic calendar.

PMV MACHHARIHA provides a conducive learning environment for its students. The school building, which is classified as “Government,” features four classrooms, all in good condition. In addition to these classrooms, the school also has two rooms dedicated to non-teaching activities and a separate room for the head teacher.

While the school lacks a boundary wall, it has access to clean drinking water through hand pumps. Furthermore, the school has separate functional toilets for boys and girls, with one each. The school also provides a mid-day meal for its students, which is prepared and served on school premises.

Despite the school’s dedication to providing quality education, it faces several infrastructural challenges. The school has no electricity connection, limiting its access to modern teaching methods and technology. Additionally, the school lacks a library and a playground, limiting extracurricular activities and resource availability for students. The absence of a ramp for disabled children also highlights a need for greater accessibility.

PMV MACHHARIHA, like many rural schools in India, faces various challenges in terms of resources and infrastructure. However, the school’s dedication to providing quality education to its students shines through in its commitment to providing a safe and nurturing learning environment.

The school’s commitment to education is further reflected in the provision of mid-day meals, which ensures students are well-nourished and have the energy to learn. While the lack of electricity and other resources poses challenges, the school’s dedication to its students and its commitment to improving the lives of children in the community are truly commendable.
