P.S., SERVESEE: A Rural Primary School in Uttar Pradesh

Nestled in the KHAJNI block of GORAKHPUR district in Uttar Pradesh, P.S., SERVESEE is a government-run primary school serving the local community. Established in 1975, the school provides education for students from Class 1 to Class 5, catering to both boys and girls.

The school boasts a sturdy, albeit somewhat dilapidated, Pucca boundary wall, ensuring a safe and secure environment for its students. The infrastructure includes four classrooms, all in good condition, along with two additional rooms for non-teaching activities, including a separate room for the headmaster or teacher. However, the school faces a challenge with its electricity supply, as the existing connection is currently not functional.

Despite the lack of electricity, the school prioritizes the well-being of its students by providing access to clean drinking water through hand pumps. Additionally, the school maintains separate, functional toilets for boys and girls, ensuring their basic hygiene needs are met.

P.S., SERVESEE is committed to providing a comprehensive learning experience, with Hindi serving as the primary language of instruction. The school features a dedicated staff of three teachers, including one male teacher and two female teachers, dedicated to providing quality education to the students.

While the school lacks a library and a computer-aided learning lab, it does offer a crucial service – mid-day meals provided and prepared on the school premises. This ensures that students receive a nutritious meal, allowing them to focus on their studies without the burden of hunger.

Although the school does not have a playground or computers for teaching and learning, its dedication to providing basic necessities like clean water, sanitation facilities, and a dedicated staff makes it a vital resource for the local community.

P.S., SERVESEE is a testament to the dedication of educators in rural India, striving to provide quality education in challenging circumstances. As the school continues to serve its community, it represents a beacon of hope for the future generations of students who rely on its valuable services.
