P S BHAKURAHA: A Rural Primary School in Uttar Pradesh

P S BHAKURAHA, located in the SHIV PUR block of BAHRAICH district in Uttar Pradesh, is a government-run primary school that opened its doors in 2001. The school, situated in a rural area, caters to students from Grades 1 to 5. Its co-educational environment provides a welcoming space for young learners.

The school’s infrastructure includes a government building with six well-maintained classrooms, providing sufficient space for students. While there’s no boundary wall surrounding the school, it does have two additional rooms dedicated to non-teaching activities and a separate room for the head teacher. The school, however, lacks electricity and a playground.

Despite these limitations, P S BHAKURAHA strives to provide a conducive learning environment for its students. The school relies on hand pumps for its drinking water needs, ensuring a reliable source of clean water for students and staff. The presence of separate functional toilets for boys and girls underscores the school’s commitment to providing basic sanitation facilities.

The school boasts a dedicated teaching staff of four, comprising one male teacher and three female teachers. They impart knowledge through the medium of Hindi. While P S BHAKURAHA does not have a pre-primary section, it offers mid-day meals prepared within the school premises, ensuring that students receive a nutritious meal during their school day.

The school’s lack of computers and a computer-aided learning lab reflects the challenges faced by many rural schools in India. However, the school’s commitment to providing a safe and accessible learning environment for all students, including those with disabilities, is evident in the presence of ramps to facilitate access.

P S BHAKURAHA serves as a vital educational resource for the local community. Its dedicated staff and commitment to providing basic amenities, despite limited resources, highlight the importance of education in rural India. As the school continues to serve its community, it will likely continue to face challenges, but its commitment to providing quality education to its students remains strong.
