NUAGAON P.S.: A Rural Primary School in Odisha

Nestled in the heart of Odisha, NUAGAON P.S. is a government-run primary school serving the educational needs of the local community. Established in 1962, the school provides education for children from Class 1 to Class 5, catering to students from the surrounding rural area. With a focus on primary education, the school offers a curriculum taught in Odia, the primary language of the region.

The school’s infrastructure includes two classrooms equipped with essential facilities. To ensure the health and hygiene of students, the school has separate boys’ and girls’ toilets. While the school lacks a boundary wall, it boasts a library stocked with 216 books, providing students with access to literary resources. Notably, the school does not have a playground, but it does offer drinking water through hand pumps, a vital resource in the rural context.

The academic staff comprises two dedicated teachers: one male teacher and one female teacher. The school operates as a co-educational institution, providing equal opportunities for boys and girls. Notably, the school provides meals to its students, which are prepared on-site, ensuring nutritional support for the children.

While the school lacks access to electricity and computer-aided learning facilities, it prioritizes traditional methods of instruction. The school’s commitment to providing quality education is evident in its well-maintained infrastructure and dedicated teaching staff.

The school falls under the management of the Department of Education and operates as a non-residential institution. The lack of a pre-primary section and the absence of ramps for the disabled are limitations that the school might consider addressing in the future.

Despite these limitations, NUAGAON P.S. plays a crucial role in the community by providing primary education to children in the rural area. The school’s dedication to fostering learning and its commitment to providing essential facilities make it a valuable asset to the community.
