Mandapada Project PS: A Rural Primary School in Odisha

Mandapada Project PS, a government primary school located in Odisha, offers education to students from Class 1 to Class 5. This co-educational school, established in 2008, serves the rural community with its two classrooms, a well-stocked library, and a dedicated staff of two teachers.

The school boasts a diverse learning environment. Students are taught in Odia, the primary language of the region, providing them with a strong foundation in their native tongue. The school also has a robust library, containing a collection of 203 books, fostering a love for reading and encouraging students to explore new knowledge.

The school’s facilities cater to the needs of its students, including:

• Hand pumps: Providing clean drinking water for students and staff throughout the day.
• Ramps for the disabled: Ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for all students.
• Separate toilets for boys and girls: Maintaining hygiene and providing a safe and comfortable environment.

Mandapada Project PS stands as a testament to the commitment to education in rural Odisha. Despite lacking amenities like computer-aided learning and electricity, the school prioritizes the well-being of its students, offering a nutritious meal prepared on school premises.

The dedicated teachers provide quality education, ensuring students receive a strong foundation in their early years. This is further supported by the school’s management under the Department of Education, which ensures adherence to educational standards and provides resources to support the learning process.

While the school does not have a playground, its lush green hedges create a natural space for students to play and interact. This, combined with the emphasis on reading and a commitment to providing a safe and inclusive environment, contributes to a positive learning experience for students.

Mandapada Project PS is a beacon of hope for the children in the village, providing them with the opportunity to access quality education and pave the way for a brighter future. The school’s dedication to providing a comprehensive learning experience, despite limited resources, highlights the importance of education in rural communities and emphasizes the need for continued support to ensure the well-being of students and the future of rural education.
