MAKUI THEBRAM PS: A Rural Primary School in Manipur

Nestled in the rural landscape of Manipur, MAKUI THEBRAM PS is a primary school dedicated to providing education to the local community. Established in 2008, the school is managed by the Department of Education and caters to students from Class 1 to Class 5.

The school, currently under construction, offers a welcoming environment with three classrooms designed for effective learning. The building also includes two additional rooms for non-teaching activities and a separate room for the headmaster or teacher. While the school does not have a boundary wall, it boasts a reliable source of drinking water – tap water – ensuring access to clean and safe water for students and staff.

The school’s commitment to providing a conducive learning environment is further reinforced by its functional toilet facilities. There are two boys’ toilets and two girls’ toilets, ensuring the comfort and hygiene of all students. However, the school lacks a playground, a library, and computers, highlighting the need for additional resources to enhance the educational experience.

Despite these limitations, the school actively promotes learning by employing a total of two teachers, one male and one female. English serves as the primary language of instruction, fostering a strong foundation in communication skills. The school prioritizes student well-being by providing meals prepared within the school premises, ensuring nutritious food for all students.

While the school does not have a computer lab or computer-aided learning facilities, it prioritizes accessibility for students with disabilities. The school features ramps, ensuring that all students can navigate the school buildings with ease.

MAKUI THEBRAM PS stands as a vital educational hub for the local community, offering a basic primary education to young minds. Its dedication to providing a safe and supportive learning environment, despite its limited resources, is commendable.

While the school faces challenges, its efforts to improve the learning environment and enhance educational opportunities for its students deserve recognition. With continued support and investment, MAKUI THEBRAM PS has the potential to flourish and become a beacon of knowledge and progress for the community.
