MAA SITALA DEVI U.P.S.: A Rural Upper Primary School in Odisha

MAA SITALA DEVI U.P.S. is a co-educational upper primary school located in a rural area of Odisha. Established in 1989, the school offers education for students from Class 6 to Class 7, catering to the educational needs of children within the local community.

The school is managed by the private aided sector, signifying a partnership between private entities and the government to provide quality education. This collaborative approach contributes to the school’s ability to offer a comprehensive curriculum for its students.

The school operates from a rent-free building with one classroom equipped with a boys’ and girls’ toilet. Although the school doesn’t have computer-aided learning facilities, it does boast a library with 45 books, providing students with valuable resources for learning and expanding their knowledge. The school also provides drinking water through hand pumps, ensuring access to clean water for students and staff.

The school’s academic program is focused on upper primary education, covering classes 6 through 8. The medium of instruction is Odia, reflecting the regional language and cultural identity of the area. The school employs a dedicated team of two teachers, one of whom is the head teacher, SATYA NARAYAN SWAIN. These teachers are responsible for delivering the curriculum and nurturing the academic growth of their students.

While the school doesn’t offer pre-primary education, it does provide meals for students, prepared and served within the school premises. This ensures that students receive a nutritious meal during the school day, supporting their overall well-being and learning.

The school’s commitment to providing accessible education is evident in the inclusion of a library and a focus on providing meals. However, the absence of computer facilities and a boundary wall presents challenges that the school may seek to address in the future. The school’s success lies in its dedication to empowering young minds with a strong foundation in education, shaping their future prospects and contributing to the development of the local community.
