Nestled in the heart of rural Odisha, Kanja Project UPS stands as a beacon of education for the local community. Established in 1923, the school offers primary and upper primary education for students from Class 1 to Class 8, serving as a vital hub for learning and development.

The school is managed by the Department of Education and is a co-educational institution, catering to both boys and girls. Instruction is provided in Odia, with a dedicated staff of five teachers, including four male teachers and one female teacher.

Despite its rural location, Kanja Project UPS boasts a well-equipped environment with five classrooms, a library, and separate toilets for boys and girls. While it currently lacks computer-aided learning facilities and electricity, the school has taken steps to ensure access to clean drinking water through hand pumps and has implemented ramps for students with disabilities.

A key feature of the school is its library, which houses a collection of 250 books. This resource provides students with access to a wider range of knowledge and encourages a love of reading. Although the school does not offer pre-primary education or a playground, it prioritizes the well-being of its students by providing meals prepared on school premises.

The school’s academic structure follows the “Others” board for both Class 10 and Class 10+2. This indicates a focus on providing a comprehensive education that aligns with the local needs and curriculum.
