Kacheridiha Project P.S.: A Rural Primary School in Odisha

Nestled in the rural landscape of Odisha, Kacheridiha Project P.S. is a primary school catering to the educational needs of young learners. Established in 2004, the school is managed by the Department of Education and operates as a co-educational institution, providing a welcoming learning environment for both boys and girls.

The school offers instruction in Odia, the official language of Odisha, and its curriculum focuses on primary education from Class 1 to Class 5. While the school offers no pre-primary sections, it boasts a library stocked with 65 books, offering students access to a world of knowledge and stimulating their imaginations.

Kacheridiha Project P.S. prioritizes student safety and well-being. The school provides separate toilet facilities for boys and girls, and students have access to drinking water through hand pumps. The school’s infrastructure includes two classrooms, which are conducive to learning, but lack electricity and a boundary wall. However, the school provides meals, prepared on-site, ensuring that students receive nutritious nourishment during their school day.

While the school does not have a playground or computer-aided learning facilities, the dedication of the teachers plays a vital role in creating a positive learning environment. The school employs a single female teacher who is also the head teacher, and the school’s commitment to providing quality education is reflected in the fact that all students receive a meal provided and prepared on the school premises.

The absence of ramps for disabled students highlights the need for accessibility improvements in the future. However, the school’s commitment to providing a nurturing and supportive learning environment is evident in its focus on basic infrastructure and essential resources.

Kacheridiha Project P.S. stands as a testament to the importance of providing educational opportunities in rural communities. While the school faces challenges, its dedicated staff and commitment to delivering quality primary education make it a valuable asset to the community. The school serves as a cornerstone in the development of young minds, fostering their intellectual growth and contributing to the future of Odisha.
