A Glimpse into JAYABAHAL P.S.: A Rural Primary School in Odisha

JAYABAHAL P.S. is a government-run primary school situated in the rural district of Odisha. Established in 1960, the school provides education to students from Class 1 to Class 5, catering to a co-educational student body.

Despite being a rural school, JAYABAHAL P.S. boasts a strong foundation. It boasts a library with an impressive collection of 207 books, offering students access to knowledge beyond the classroom. Although the school lacks a playground, it prioritizes accessibility for disabled individuals with ramps for easy access.

The school’s infrastructure, however, requires some attention. While it has a pucca building, it is in a state of disrepair. The school also lacks access to electricity and has limited drinking water facilities. These shortcomings emphasize the need for infrastructure improvements to provide a more comfortable and conducive learning environment.

Instruction at JAYABAHAL P.S. is delivered in Odia, the primary language of the region. The school has a dedicated team of six teachers, comprising four male and two female educators, ensuring a balanced learning environment. The head teacher, KISHORE CHANDRA MAJHI, leads the school’s academic endeavors.

Despite its rural location, JAYABAHAL P.S. prioritizes the well-being of its students. It provides meals prepared on the school premises, ensuring that students have access to nutritious food throughout the day.

The school’s dedication to education shines through its focus on providing a holistic learning experience. With a dedicated library, accessibility features, and a passionate teaching staff, JAYABAHAL P.S. is committed to nurturing young minds and empowering future generations.

However, the lack of electricity, inadequate water facilities, and building repairs represent areas that require immediate attention. Investing in these aspects would significantly enhance the school’s infrastructure and provide a more conducive learning environment for its students.

With its commitment to education and a dedicated team, JAYABAHAL P.S. is a beacon of hope in the rural landscape of Odisha. As it strives to overcome its infrastructure challenges, the school holds the potential to transform the lives of its students and contribute to the brighter future of the community.
