HS FIFEDA: A Secondary School in Rural Madhya Pradesh

HS FIFEDA, a government-run secondary school, stands in the heart of rural Madhya Pradesh, serving students from the 9th to 10th grade. Established in 1997 under the management of the Tribal/Social Welfare Department, the school offers a co-educational environment, catering to both boys and girls.

The school building, while government-owned, lacks proper infrastructure for the students. Although it houses no classrooms, it boasts 2 additional rooms dedicated to non-teaching activities. The school also has a separate room for the Head Master/Teacher, ensuring a dedicated space for administrative purposes.

Despite its lack of classrooms, the school provides a library, although it currently holds no books. However, the presence of a library signifies a commitment to fostering a love for reading among students. The school boasts one functional boys’ toilet, ensuring basic sanitation facilities for the students. Unfortunately, the school lacks access to electricity and a playground for recreational activities.

While the school doesn’t offer a pre-primary section, it provides education through the medium of Hindi. The curriculum focuses on the state board syllabus, preparing students for the Class 10th examinations.

In terms of teacher resources, the school employs 5 male teachers, with no female teachers currently on staff. Although the school lacks computer aided learning facilities and computers for teaching purposes, it does have a dedicated head teacher who oversees the school’s operations.

Although the school does not provide meals to students, it has access to drinking water, although the source is unspecified. The school is located on a road accessible in all weather conditions, ensuring accessibility for students.

HS FIFEDA, despite its limited resources, plays a crucial role in the educational landscape of rural Madhya Pradesh. It serves as a beacon of learning for students in the region, providing them with a foundation for their future endeavors. The school’s commitment to education, even amidst challenges, highlights the importance of providing access to quality education for all students, regardless of location or circumstance.
