Dhobamaliha PS: A Rural Primary School in Odisha

Dhobamaliha PS is a government-run primary school located in Odisha, India. Established in 1979, this co-educational institution serves students from Class 1 to Class 5, catering to the educational needs of the local rural community. The school is characterized by its simple yet functional design, featuring two classrooms equipped with basic amenities.

While the school lacks access to electricity and computer-aided learning facilities, it provides a basic learning environment with a well-stocked library containing 12 books. The library serves as a valuable resource for students to expand their knowledge beyond the regular curriculum. The school also prioritizes hygiene and provides separate toilets for boys and girls.

Dhobamaliha PS is staffed by two dedicated teachers – one male and one female. Both teachers are proficient in Odia, the primary language of instruction. The school provides a meal to its students, although it is not prepared on the premises.

The school building is enclosed by hedges, offering some protection from the elements. However, it lacks a playground, which could potentially limit the opportunities for physical activity and recreation for the students. Despite these limitations, Dhobamaliha PS plays a vital role in providing basic education to children in the rural area.

The school’s management falls under the Department of Education, ensuring adherence to the national education standards. While the school does not offer pre-primary education or cater to students beyond Class 5, it focuses on providing a solid foundation in basic education for its young students.

The lack of ramps for disabled students highlights the need for infrastructure improvements to make the school more inclusive. Furthermore, the absence of electricity and computer facilities underscores the need for increased investment in modern educational resources to keep pace with evolving educational needs.

Despite these challenges, Dhobamaliha PS continues to serve its community by providing accessible and quality education to children in the rural area. With continued support and investment, the school can further enhance its infrastructure and resources, creating a more stimulating and inclusive learning environment for its students.
