Dalak P.S.: A Rural Primary School in Odisha

Dalak P.S. is a government-run primary school located in the village of Dalak, falling under the jurisdiction of the Subarnapur district in Odisha. The school, established in 1962, caters to students from Class 1 to Class 5, providing primary education to children in the surrounding rural area.

A Look at the Facilities:

The school boasts two classrooms equipped with basic amenities like separate toilets for boys and girls. However, the school lacks access to electricity and computer-aided learning facilities. The school building has partial walls, indicating a need for further infrastructure development. Despite these limitations, the school offers a library stocked with 207 books, providing valuable learning resources for students. Notably, the school provides a hand pump for drinking water, ensuring access to clean water for students and staff.

Educational Focus and Infrastructure:

Dalak P.S. focuses on delivering primary education in Odia, the local language. The school employs two teachers, one male and one female, ensuring a balanced learning environment. The school’s management falls under the Department of Education, highlighting its commitment to government-regulated standards. The school serves meals to its students, prepared within the school premises, demonstrating a commitment to supporting the well-being of its pupils.

Areas for Improvement:

While the school provides essential services, several areas require attention. The absence of a playground and ramps for disabled students presents challenges for inclusivity and physical development. The lack of electricity and computer-aided learning tools restricts access to modern teaching methods and technologies.

A Promise for the Future:

Despite these challenges, Dalak P.S. remains a beacon of education in the rural community. The school’s dedication to providing primary education, combined with its commitment to providing meals and a library, highlights its role in fostering learning and development in the area. Future investments in infrastructure and facilities can further enhance the school’s capacity to provide a holistic and enriching learning experience for its students.
