DIHAKARADA PROJECT UPS: A Rural Primary School in Odisha

Nestled in the rural heart of Odisha, the DIHAKARADA PROJECT UPS stands as a beacon of education for the local community. This government-run school, established in 1973, serves students from Class 1 to Class 8. The school offers a co-educational environment and boasts three classrooms equipped with basic amenities like toilets for both boys and girls, and a library stocked with 285 books.

The school’s commitment to providing a nurturing learning environment is further evident in the availability of drinking water via hand pumps and ramps designed for the convenience of students with disabilities. While the school does not have a playground, the presence of hedges surrounding the school provides a semblance of outdoor space.

DIHAKARADA PROJECT UPS follows the Odisha curriculum, emphasizing Odia as the medium of instruction. With a dedicated team of three male teachers, the school aims to impart quality education to its students. Meals are provided and prepared within the school premises, ensuring that students have access to nutritious food while focusing on their studies.

The absence of electricity and computer-aided learning facilities highlights the school’s need for improvement in infrastructure and technological resources. However, the school’s dedication to providing basic amenities and its focus on academic excellence stand as testament to its commitment to its students.

The school’s management falls under the Department of Education, underscoring the government’s role in providing accessible education to rural communities. While the school has no pre-primary section and is not residential, its commitment to providing primary and upper primary education to local children remains unwavering.

DIHAKARADA PROJECT UPS, despite its limitations, embodies the spirit of rural education in Odisha. Its efforts in providing a basic education to children from the village, while acknowledging the need for further development and support, stand as a testament to the transformative power of education. The school’s dedication to improving the lives of its students through education serves as an inspiration, highlighting the crucial role schools play in building a brighter future for rural communities.
