DHEPAGUDA PROJ. PS: A Rural Primary School in Odisha

DHEPAGUDA PROJ. PS, a government-run primary school located in Odisha, serves as a vital educational hub for the local community. Established in 2009, the school provides quality education for children from Class 1 to Class 5, catering to their academic needs in a co-educational environment.

The school offers instruction in Odia, the primary language of the region. The school’s teaching staff comprises one male teacher and one pre-primary teacher, ensuring a student-teacher ratio conducive to personalized learning.

While the school offers a pre-primary section, its focus lies on providing quality primary education. The curriculum aligns with the “Others” board for Class 10, signifying a strong emphasis on foundational learning.

DHEPAGUDA PROJ. PS boasts a commitment to providing nutritious meals for its students. These meals are prepared and provided within the school premises, ensuring that students have access to wholesome and balanced nutrition during their school day.

Despite being located in a rural area, the school provides essential amenities for its students. The school has two classrooms and separate facilities for boys and girls, promoting a safe and conducive learning environment. Additionally, the school features a drinking water source using hand pumps, ensuring access to clean water for both students and staff.

Recognizing the importance of inclusivity, DHEPAGUDA PROJ. PS has invested in ramps for students with disabilities, ensuring accessibility for all. This commitment demonstrates the school’s dedication to fostering a learning environment that embraces diversity and welcomes all students.

However, the school faces some challenges. Despite having electricity connections, the school’s electrical system is currently non-functional, hindering access to crucial resources like computers. Furthermore, the absence of a boundary wall and a playground limits the school’s ability to create a secure and stimulating environment for its students.

While these challenges exist, DHEPAGUDA PROJ. PS remains a vital pillar of the local community. Its commitment to providing quality education and a supportive learning environment for children in rural Odisha makes it an essential resource for the community’s future generations.
