DAMODARGOUNI PUPS: A Rural Primary School in Odisha

Located in the heart of rural Odisha, DAMODARGOUNI PUPS is a government-run primary school with a rich history dating back to 1953. Serving the local community, the school offers education from Class 1 to Class 8, ensuring that children in the area have access to quality education.

The school building, though partially walled, provides four classrooms, a library stocked with 810 books, and a playground for the students. The school also boasts a ramp for disabled students, promoting inclusivity and accessibility.

DAMODARGOUNI PUPS emphasizes a holistic approach to learning. While the primary instruction medium is Odia, the school utilizes a co-educational system, fostering a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.

Despite the presence of electricity, it is currently not functional, highlighting a need for further infrastructure development. However, the school actively provides meals prepared in its premises, ensuring that students have access to nutritious food.

The school is managed by the Department of Education and boasts a dedicated team of four teachers, led by Head Teacher PARAMANANDA SAHOO. This team ensures that the students receive a high-quality education, preparing them for the future.

The school’s commitment to providing a holistic learning experience is further demonstrated by the presence of a library and a playground. These facilities offer students opportunities for independent learning and physical activity, promoting their well-being and development.

However, the lack of pre-primary education and limited access to drinking water pose challenges that need to be addressed. The school’s commitment to inclusive education is evident through the presence of ramps for disabled students.

Despite these challenges, DAMODARGOUNI PUPS remains a vital resource for the local community. The school plays a crucial role in educating children and empowering them to become responsible and productive members of society.

As the school continues to evolve, addressing its infrastructure needs and expanding its offerings, it is well-positioned to continue its legacy of providing high-quality education to the children of DAMODARGOUNI.
