BARABATI PS: A Rural Primary School in Odisha

Nestled in the rural landscape of DOMPARA block, CUTTACK district, Odisha, lies BARABATI PS, a government-run primary school established in 2004. This co-educational institution offers education to children from Class 1 to Class 5, providing them with a strong foundation in their early years.

The school boasts a dedicated team of 3 teachers, including 2 male teachers and 1 female teacher, committed to delivering quality education. The medium of instruction is Odia, catering to the local linguistic needs of the students.

The school’s infrastructure includes 2 classrooms, which are well-maintained and conducive to learning. While a library is available, equipped with 10 books, the school lacks other facilities such as a computer lab, playground, and boundary wall.

Despite the lack of electricity and computers, the school prioritizes the well-being of its students by providing a functional hand pump for clean drinking water and a girls’ toilet to ensure proper sanitation. The school also serves nutritious meals to the children, cooked and provided within the school premises.

Although the school lacks a pre-primary section, it serves as a vital resource for the local community, offering valuable educational opportunities for children in the area.
