BANUGUDA PS: A Rural Primary School in Odisha

BANUGUDA PS, located in the village of BANUGUDA, stands as a beacon of education in a rural part of Odisha. Situated in the district of Ganjam, this government-run primary school serves students from Class 1 to Class 5, offering them the opportunity to learn and grow.

With a strong emphasis on providing quality education, BANUGUDA PS boasts a dedicated team of two male teachers, ensuring individual attention and personalized learning. Although the school does not offer pre-primary education, it compensates with a well-stocked library housing 132 books, providing students access to a wealth of knowledge.

The school’s infrastructure, although modest, includes two classrooms, ensuring adequate space for learning. To cater to the needs of students, the school also provides clean and accessible drinking water through hand pumps. However, the school lacks essential amenities like electricity and a boundary wall, highlighting the need for further improvements.

While the school does not have a playground, it makes up for it by providing meals to its students. The meals, however, are not prepared on the school premises. Furthermore, the school’s academic content is entirely delivered in Odia, ensuring a comfortable learning environment for students who are native speakers of the language.

Established in 1998, BANUGUDA PS has been a vital part of the community for over two decades. The school’s management, under the Department of Education, strives to provide quality education and empower students with knowledge.

Despite its challenges, BANUGUDA PS plays a crucial role in providing basic education to students in a rural setting. The school’s dedication to its students, evident in its well-stocked library and commitment to providing meals, underscores its importance in the community.

However, the lack of essential amenities like electricity and a boundary wall highlights the need for further investment and development. With additional resources, BANUGUDA PS could become an even more valuable asset for the community, providing a more conducive learning environment and fostering the growth of its students.
