ASONGA PUPS, a government-run primary school located in the rural area of Odisha, offers education for students from Class 1 to Class 8. Established in 1953, this co-educational institution provides primary and upper primary education, catering to the needs of students in the surrounding village.

A Glimpse into the School’s Infrastructure:

The school boasts seven classrooms and provides essential amenities like separate toilets for boys and girls. Although it lacks access to electricity and computer-aided learning, the school has a well-stocked library containing 762 books. The building, while built with sturdy pucca materials, requires some repairs as it is currently in a broken state. A ramp for students with disabilities ensures accessibility within the school. The lack of a playground, however, limits recreational opportunities for students.

Teaching and Learning at ASONGA PUPS:

The school follows an Odia instruction medium, ensuring a comfortable learning environment for local students. A dedicated team of five teachers, comprising four male teachers and one female teacher, provides quality instruction. Despite being a primary and upper primary school, there is no pre-primary section available. The school is under the Department of Education’s management and aims to provide a quality education to the students in the surrounding community.

While the school lacks access to drinking water facilities, the school provides meals that are prepared and served on-site. It is noteworthy that ASONGA PUPS is not a residential school, and students are expected to commute daily. Although the school prepares students for the “Others” board examinations for Class 10 and 10+2, it focuses primarily on providing a strong foundation in primary education.
