AMRUTIA P.S: A Rural Primary School in Odisha

AMRUTIA P.S., a government-run primary school in Odisha, is located in the heart of a rural community. Established in 1899, the school caters to students from Class 1 to Class 5, offering education in Odia. Despite its long history, the school is undergoing some renovations, with the walls currently under construction.

With five classrooms, AMRUTIA P.S. provides a basic learning environment for its students. The school boasts a well-stocked library with 183 books, offering students access to a wealth of knowledge. However, the school lacks a playground and computer-aided learning facilities.

The school prioritizes student well-being, providing clean drinking water through hand pumps and ensuring accessibility for students with disabilities through ramps. Notably, a dedicated team of four teachers, including one male teacher and three female teachers, are committed to delivering quality education.

While AMRUTIA P.S. does not offer pre-primary education or residential facilities, it plays a crucial role in providing essential primary education to children in the surrounding rural area. The school’s commitment to providing a safe and accessible learning environment, alongside its dedication to fostering a love for learning, makes it a vital part of the community.

The school’s academic program emphasizes core subjects in the Odia language, and the institution is managed by the Department of Education. The school’s academic structure falls under the “Others” category for class 10 and 10+2. This suggests that the school may be affiliated with a state or local board.

The school’s commitment to providing a meal service for its students reflects its dedication to addressing the nutritional needs of its students. This initiative ensures that students have access to a healthy meal during their school day, contributing to their overall well-being and academic performance.

While AMRUTIA P.S. faces challenges, including the lack of certain amenities and the ongoing construction of its walls, its dedicated teachers, well-maintained library, and commitment to accessibility make it a valuable resource for its students and the wider community. The school’s efforts to provide a quality education and a safe environment for learning are essential in empowering the next generation of students in Odisha.
