36 MILES J.B SCHOOL: A Rural Primary School in Tripura

36 MILES J.B SCHOOL, a government-run primary school, stands as a beacon of education in the rural area of MUNGIAKAMI block, KHOWAI district, Tripura. Established in 2004, the school caters to students from the first to fifth grade, providing a co-educational environment.

The school’s infrastructure consists of a government building with four well-maintained classrooms. Although electricity is available, it is not functional. However, the school ensures access to clean drinking water through hand pumps. Toilets are available for both boys and girls, ensuring basic sanitation facilities.

Despite the school’s commitment to education, some essential facilities are lacking. Notably, the school does not have a boundary wall, a library, a playground, or computers for teaching and learning. Consequently, it also lacks a computer-aided learning lab.

The school’s academic program prioritizes Bengali as the medium of instruction, reflecting the local language. Five teachers, including four male teachers and one female teacher, guide the students through their primary education.

While the school does not have a pre-primary section, it provides mid-day meals for its students, ensuring their nutritional needs are met. The school also functions as a regular school, operating without any shift system.

The lack of certain facilities like a library, playground, and computers highlights the challenges faced by rural schools in India. While the school has a dedicated staff and provides essential resources like drinking water and toilets, the lack of these additional facilities can hinder students’ learning experiences.

Despite these limitations, 36 MILES J.B SCHOOL plays a crucial role in the community, providing primary education to children in the rural area. Its commitment to education, particularly in a setting where resources are limited, deserves recognition.

Further development and investment in resources like libraries, playgrounds, and computers could significantly enhance the school’s learning environment. These improvements could not only enhance the learning experience for students but also inspire a greater love for education.
