UPS PILKHUNI: A Rural Upper Primary School in Uttar Pradesh

UPS PILKHUNI, located in PILKHUNI village, is a government-run upper primary school in the district of Hapur, Uttar Pradesh. Established in 2003, this co-educational school offers education to students from Class 6 to Class 8.

The school provides a safe learning environment for its students with three classrooms, one boys’ toilet, and one girls’ toilet. The library, stocked with 20 books, serves as a valuable resource for students, while the playground provides an opportunity for physical activity and recreation.

UPS PILKHUNI’s commitment to student well-being is evident in the provision of drinking water from hand pumps. However, the school faces challenges with access to electricity and computer-aided learning facilities. The school building is constructed with other materials, and there are no ramps for students with disabilities.

Despite these limitations, UPS PILKHUNI plays a crucial role in educating children in the rural community. With a total of two teachers, including two female teachers, the school focuses on imparting knowledge in Hindi, the primary medium of instruction.

UPS PILKHUNI’s curriculum follows the “Others” board for Class 10, indicating that the school is affiliated with a non-national board. Notably, the school provides meals to its students, ensuring that they are adequately nourished during their school day.

The school’s rural location, coupled with the lack of pre-primary facilities, suggests that UPS PILKHUNI serves as a vital link in providing access to education for children in the village. The dedicated staff, along with the availability of essential resources like a library and playground, strive to create a conducive learning environment for the students.

Although the school lacks access to modern amenities such as electricity and computers, the commitment to providing basic education and nutritious meals showcases the dedication of the staff and the importance of this school to the community.

UPS PILKHUNI stands as a testament to the government’s efforts to ensure access to education in rural areas. While there are challenges, the school continues to provide a valuable service to its students, playing a vital role in shaping the future of children in the village.
