THANAPALLI P S: A Rural Primary School in Odisha

Nestled in the village of THANAPALLI, located in the district of Puri in Odisha, THANAPALLI P S is a government-run primary school catering to students from Class 1 to Class 5. Established in 1986, the school offers a co-educational environment where students learn in Odia.

The school, situated in a rural area, is equipped with three classrooms, separate toilets for boys and girls, and a well-maintained library containing 50 books. While electricity and a playground are currently not available, the school provides drinking water through hand pumps and is accessible to individuals with disabilities thanks to ramps.

THANAPALLI P S is managed by the Department of Education and currently employs two teachers, including the head teacher, KHETRABASI MALLIK. The school serves hot meals to its students, ensuring they are nourished while learning.

The school’s academic focus lies solely on primary education, with students preparing for the “Others” board after completing Class 10. Interestingly, despite being a primary school, the curriculum also includes the “Others” board for Class 10+2, signifying a potential path for students to continue their education beyond primary levels.

The school’s commitment to its students is evident in its infrastructure, which prioritizes basic needs like clean water, restrooms, and accessibility. The presence of a library and the provision of meals indicate a dedication to providing a comprehensive learning experience, even in the absence of electricity and a playground.

THANAPALLI P S plays a crucial role in providing quality education to students in a rural area. Its emphasis on basic needs and its commitment to offering meals contribute to a conducive learning environment. While lacking certain amenities, the school’s dedication to its students and its dedication to providing a good learning experience set it apart as a valuable resource for the local community.

The school’s location in a rural area highlights the importance of educational infrastructure in remote regions. Providing access to quality education is key to improving the lives of students and their families in these areas. The presence of THANAPALLI P S serves as a testament to the commitment of the Department of Education in providing educational opportunities to all children.
