Sankardev Shisu Vidya Nekatan, a private, co-educational school in the rural heart of Assam, India, stands as a testament to educational commitment. Established in 1998 under private unaided management, this institution provides a crucial educational service to the community. Its location within the Matia block of Goalpara district makes it easily accessible via all-weather roads.

The school’s academic offerings span from Class 1 to Class 10, following the State Board curriculum for Class 10 and a different board for higher secondary education. Instruction is imparted entirely in Assamese, catering specifically to the local linguistic environment. The absence of a pre-primary section focuses its resources on primary and secondary education.

With a total of 16 teachers—6 male and 10 female—Sankardev Shisu Vidya Nekatan provides a balanced and experienced teaching staff. This dedication to quality education is further reflected in the well-maintained school infrastructure.

The school boasts 15 classrooms in good condition, ensuring adequate space for learning. The presence of a functional library, stocked with 300 books, fosters a love of reading among students. A spacious playground provides ample opportunity for physical activity and recreation, complementing the academic focus.

The school’s commitment to student well-being extends beyond academics. Reliable access to drinking water via hand pumps and functional toilet facilities for both boys and girls (4 each) demonstrate a concern for hygiene and sanitation.

The school’s infrastructure comprises a private building, surrounded by hedges which serve as a boundary wall, and conveniently connected to electricity. The lack of ramps highlights an area for potential future improvement, catering to the needs of students with disabilities.

While the school currently lacks computer-aided learning facilities, its robust library and dedicated teaching staff demonstrate a firm commitment to providing a foundational education. This commitment is further demonstrated by the school’s operational status and positive contributions to the community.

The school’s operational hours and academic calendar adhere to the standard schedule, commencing the academic session in April. The absence of a midday meal program aligns with its private, unaided status. The school’s rural setting makes it a vital community resource, providing education opportunities to children in an often underserved area.

In summary, Sankardev Shisu Vidya Nekatan offers a valuable service to the community, offering quality education and essential amenities. While areas for future development exist, its commitment to educational excellence remains evident.

Future development plans could include the addition of computer-aided learning facilities and ramps to ensure full accessibility for all students. Despite the absence of some features, this institution effectively serves the community by providing a strong foundational education.
