Sankar Nath UPS: A Rural Upper Primary School in Odisha

Sankar Nath UPS, located in a rural area with the pincode 756035, is an upper primary school catering to students from classes 6 to 7. Established in 1995, this co-educational school operates as a private aided institution with a dedicated team of two teachers, led by Head Teacher Panchanan Sahoo.

The school boasts a library stocked with 20 books, providing valuable learning resources for students. Drinking water is available through hand pumps, ensuring the students’ hydration throughout the day. The school building, constructed with hedges, houses two classrooms and separate toilets for boys and girls. The lack of computer-aided learning and electricity presents challenges, but the school’s focus remains on providing quality education through traditional methods.

Sankar Nath UPS offers instruction in Odia and follows the “Others” board for Class 10th. The school provides meals for its students, prepared on-site, ensuring adequate nutrition. The absence of pre-primary sections and a playground highlights the school’s focus on upper primary education.

The dedication of the two male teachers is evident in their commitment to providing quality education. The school’s commitment to the community is further emphasized by its rural location and its lack of residential facilities.

While the school faces challenges, including the absence of technology, the presence of a dedicated teaching staff, a well-maintained library, and the provision of meals underscores its commitment to providing quality education for its students.

Sankar Nath UPS stands as a testament to the importance of rural education in Odisha, providing essential learning opportunities for students in a community where access to education may be limited.
