S.BARAGAM P.S.: A Rural Primary School in Odisha

Nestled within the village of S.BARAGAM, in the district of Cuttack, Odisha, lies the S.BARAGAM P.S. This primary school, established in 1927, serves the rural community, offering education to children from Class 1 to Class 5. With a total of 5 classrooms, the school is managed by the Department of Education and offers a co-educational environment.

The school primarily utilizes Odia as the instruction medium, providing a strong foundation in the local language. Four dedicated teachers, comprising two male and two female educators, ensure the quality of education delivered. Notably, the school does not have any pre-primary sections, focusing solely on primary education.

Despite being classified as a government school, the S.BARAGAM P.S. boasts a well-stocked library, housing an impressive collection of 940 books. While lacking a playground, the school provides a safe and secure environment for learning. The school also prioritizes the health and well-being of its students, providing access to hand pumps for drinking water.

The school’s commitment to inclusivity is evident through the presence of a library and the provision of hand pumps for drinking water. However, the lack of ramps for disabled students highlights a need for further development in accessibility. The school also lacks access to electricity and computer-aided learning, showcasing a gap in modern resources.

Despite these limitations, the S.BARAGAM P.S. plays a crucial role in the community by offering primary education to the village children. The school’s dedicated staff and well-maintained library demonstrate a commitment to providing a strong foundation for its students.

The lack of electricity, computer-aided learning, and ramps for disabled students suggests an area for improvement. Investment in these areas would greatly enhance the educational experience and promote inclusivity within the school.

Overall, the S.BARAGAM P.S. represents a testament to the dedication of educators in providing primary education in rural Odisha. Its commitment to quality education, despite limited resources, makes it a valuable asset to the community. As the school continues to evolve, efforts to enhance its facilities and resources would further strengthen its position as a vital educational hub for the village of S.BARAGAM.
