Pradhan Sahi Project PS: A Rural Primary School in Odisha

Located in the village of Pradhan Sahi Project, in the district of Kalahandi, Odisha, Pradhan Sahi Project PS is a government-run primary school serving students from Class 1 to Class 5. The school, established in 2010, operates in a rural setting, catering to the educational needs of the local community.

Pradhan Sahi Project PS provides a co-educational learning environment, with a focus on instruction delivered in Odia. The school is equipped with two classrooms, one boys’ toilet, and one girls’ toilet, ensuring a basic infrastructure for learning and hygiene. While the school lacks electricity and a boundary wall, it does boast a library, stocked with a commendable 57 books, providing students with access to resources beyond the classroom. However, the lack of a playground and drinking water facilities highlights the need for further infrastructure development.

Despite the limited resources, Pradhan Sahi Project PS is committed to delivering quality education. The school is managed by the Department of Education and staffed by two dedicated teachers, including two female teachers. Notably, the school offers a meal program, ensuring that students receive nourishment while attending classes.

The school’s academic focus is on primary education, preparing students for their foundational years of learning. While the school doesn’t offer pre-primary education, it plays a vital role in fostering early learning within the community. The school’s dedication to providing meals within its premises underscores the importance of holistic education, addressing not just academic needs but also nutritional well-being.

The absence of computer-aided learning and ramps for disabled students highlights the need for further modernization and accessibility improvements. These aspects present opportunities for future development to ensure inclusivity and enhance the learning experience for all students.

Pradhan Sahi Project PS, with its humble beginnings and dedicated staff, stands as a testament to the power of education in rural communities. As it continues to serve its students, the school’s future development holds the potential to further enhance its facilities and provide even more enriching learning opportunities for the children of Pradhan Sahi Project.
