MUNSIGAON MOONDA SSK: A Rural School in West Bengal

Nestled in the JOREBUNGLOW SUKHIA block of DARJILING district in West Bengal, MUNSIGAON MOONDA SSK is a primary school serving the local community. Established in 2002, the school is managed by the Department of Education and caters to students from Grades 1 to 4.

The school’s infrastructure reflects its rural setting. While it boasts a private building with three well-maintained classrooms, it lacks a boundary wall and a functional electricity connection. Despite these challenges, the school prioritizes the well-being of its students, providing separate boys’ and girls’ toilets, both of which are in working order.

MUNSIGAON MOONDA SSK offers a co-educational environment and features a pre-primary section, catering to young learners. The school’s dedication to providing a comprehensive education is evident in its commitment to providing a meal for its students, although it is prepared off-site.

While the school does not have a library or access to computers, it prioritizes a holistic learning experience by offering a playground for students to engage in physical activities. The school’s academic focus is on Nepali as the primary language of instruction, ensuring that students are well-prepared for their educational journey.

One of the school’s most noteworthy features is its commitment to inclusivity. The school recognizes the importance of accessible learning and strives to create an environment where all students feel welcome and supported. While it currently lacks ramps for students with disabilities, its dedication to fostering a welcoming atmosphere is commendable.

The school’s staff comprises two teachers – one male and one female – who dedicate themselves to providing quality education to the students. The school also has a Head Teacher, BAL KUMAR GURUNG, who oversees the smooth functioning of the institution.

Despite its limitations, MUNSIGAON MOONDA SSK remains an important resource for the local community, providing basic education and fostering a nurturing learning environment for its students. Its dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment, despite its resource constraints, makes it a valuable asset to the community it serves.
