MARKELGUDA COL PS: A Rural Primary School in Odisha

Nestled in the heart of a rural community, MARKELGUDA COL PS stands as a beacon of education for young minds in Odisha. This government-run primary school serves the educational needs of children from Class 1 to Class 5, providing them with a foundation for their future academic journey.

The school, established in 2010, operates under the Department of Education and caters to students from the surrounding village. Despite being a rural school, MARKELGUDA COL PS boasts a robust infrastructure. With two classrooms, a library stocked with 93 books, and separate restrooms for boys and girls, the school strives to provide a conducive learning environment.

The school offers a comprehensive learning experience, with instruction medium solely in Odia. Two dedicated teachers, one male and one female, guide students through their academic journey. Furthermore, the school provides meals to its students, ensuring they have the necessary nourishment to focus on their studies.

One of the key highlights of MARKELGUDA COL PS is its commitment to accessibility. The school features ramps for students with disabilities, emphasizing inclusivity and creating an environment where all children can thrive. The school, however, lacks access to electricity and computer-aided learning facilities, highlighting the need for further development in these areas.

The school’s location in a rural area and its focus on primary education emphasizes its role in providing foundational knowledge to young children in the community. The absence of a pre-primary section suggests that the school focuses on catering to the needs of children who are already familiar with basic literacy and numeracy skills.

While the school lacks certain modern amenities like electricity and computers, its dedicated teachers, well-maintained infrastructure, and commitment to providing meals for students demonstrate its dedication to educating the children in its care. MARKELGUDA COL PS is a testament to the importance of accessible and inclusive education in rural communities, nurturing young minds and shaping their future.
