Mankadpada PS: A Rural Primary School in Odisha

Located in the heart of rural Odisha, Mankadpada PS is a primary school catering to students from Class 1 to Class 5. Established in 1958, the school is managed by the Department of Education and offers a co-educational learning environment.

The school building, built with sturdy pucca walls, houses three classrooms. It boasts essential facilities like clean drinking water from a well, and separate toilets for boys and girls (one for boys and two for girls). The school also boasts a well-stocked library with over 200 books, providing students with access to enriching literary resources. To ensure accessibility for all, ramps for disabled students have been installed, making the school inclusive and welcoming.

The school’s curriculum follows the Odia medium of instruction, emphasizing the importance of learning in the local language. The teaching staff consists of four dedicated teachers, including three male and one female teacher, who are committed to providing quality education to their students.

Mankadpada PS also offers an important service: meals are provided and prepared within the school premises, ensuring that students have access to nutritious food while they learn. Though the school does not offer pre-primary education, it plays a vital role in the community by providing a solid foundation in primary education for the children of the surrounding area.

The school, though lacking a playground, encourages learning and social interaction with its library and computer-aided learning facilities. However, it is worth noting that the school is not residential. This implies that students reside in nearby villages and travel to the school for their daily education.

While the school does not offer higher secondary education, it provides a foundation for students to excel in future academic pursuits. Mankadpada PS is a testament to the dedication of educators and the commitment of the government to provide quality education in rural areas.

This well-equipped primary school, with its dedicated teachers and supportive environment, strives to empower young minds and contribute to the future of the community. It stands as a beacon of hope for the children of Mankadpada, offering them a chance to learn, grow, and achieve their dreams.
