MAA BASANTIDEVI GIRLS HS: A Private Upper Primary and Secondary School in Odisha

MAA BASANTIDEVI GIRLS HS is a private school located in a rural area of Odisha, India. Established in 1998, the school offers education from Class 8 to Class 10, catering to girls only. The school boasts a solid infrastructure, including a library, a playground, and a single classroom, but lacks electricity and drinking water facilities.

The school provides instruction in Odia, with a dedicated teaching staff of 9 individuals. The teachers include 4 male and 5 female educators, reflecting a balanced approach to gender representation in the teaching profession.

MAA BASANTIDEVI GIRLS HS is classified as an “Upper Primary with Secondary (6-10)” school, implying that students can progress from the upper primary level (Class 6) to the secondary level (Class 10) within the institution. The school follows an “Others” board for Class 10, which may refer to state-level or other recognized boards outside the national Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE).

While the school doesn’t offer pre-primary education, it distinguishes itself by providing meals to students, prepared within the school premises. This ensures a nutritious and healthy environment conducive to learning.

The school building is constructed with sturdy pucca walls, providing a safe and durable learning space for the students. However, the absence of ramps presents a barrier for students with disabilities, highlighting a need for accessibility improvements in the future.

The school’s commitment to learning is evident in its library, stocked with 752 books, offering students access to a diverse range of knowledge. The playground provides a space for recreation and physical activity, promoting a holistic approach to education.

Despite its shortcomings, such as the lack of electricity and drinking water facilities, MAA BASANTIDEVI GIRLS HS plays a crucial role in providing quality education for girls in a rural setting. The school’s commitment to its students, combined with its dedication to providing a well-structured learning environment, reflects its importance in the community and its potential for future growth and development.
