LITTLE STAR LP SCHOOL: A Rural Primary School in Meghalaya

Nestled in the UMSNING block of RI BHOI district in Meghalaya, LITTLE STAR LP SCHOOL stands as a testament to educational commitment in a rural setting. Established in 2008, this private, unaided school serves students from Class 1 to Class 5, providing a co-educational learning environment with an attached pre-primary section.

The school’s academic focus lies in primary education, with Khasi serving as the medium of instruction. Despite its rural location, LITTLE STAR LP SCHOOL is accessible by all-weather roads. Its academic session begins in April, marking the start of a new chapter for its young learners.

LITTLE STAR LP SCHOOL boasts a dedicated team of three teachers, all female, who guide and nurture their students. The school’s infrastructure comprises four well-maintained classrooms, providing a conducive learning environment. Two additional rooms are available for non-teaching activities, and a separate room is allocated for the Head Teacher. While the school doesn’t have a boundary wall or electricity, it does possess a playground where students can enjoy physical activity and social interaction.

Despite its rural setting, LITTLE STAR LP SCHOOL prioritizes accessibility. It has one functional boys’ toilet, ensuring basic sanitation needs are met. However, the absence of a library and computers presents challenges in enriching the learning experience and facilitating access to digital resources. The school’s lack of a computer-aided learning lab reflects the need for further development in this crucial area.

The school’s dedicated teachers, along with its infrastructure, provide a foundation for students to embark on their educational journeys.

Despite its limitations, LITTLE STAR LP SCHOOL stands as a beacon of education in its rural community. Its commitment to providing quality primary education, combined with its accessibility and dedicated teaching staff, makes it an essential part of the educational landscape in Meghalaya. As the school continues to grow and adapt to evolving needs, it will undoubtedly continue to play a vital role in shaping the future of its students.
