Karnadera PS: A Rural Primary School in Odisha

Karnadera PS, located in the village of Karnadera, is a primary school offering education to young minds in the state of Odisha. Established in 1994, this government-run school provides a valuable educational service to the local community.

The school caters to children from Class 1 to Class 5, providing a comprehensive primary education. With a focus on Odia as the instruction medium, the school strives to nurture students’ linguistic skills and cultural understanding. Two dedicated teachers, one male and one female, guide the learning process.

Although the school lacks modern amenities like computer-aided learning and electricity, it maintains a strong foundation for foundational education. The presence of a library with 250 books ensures access to learning resources, while a drinking water source through hand pumps guarantees essential hygiene.

While the school is housed in a government-built building, it lacks a playground. However, the presence of two classrooms and a girls’ toilet provides basic infrastructure for student comfort and safety.

The school’s rural setting aligns with the surrounding environment, fostering a sense of community and a connection with nature. Importantly, the school operates as a co-educational institution, providing equal educational opportunities for both boys and girls.

Karnadera PS provides meals to its students, ensuring their nutritional needs are met. The school’s management falls under the Department of Education, reinforcing its dedication to public service.

While the school lacks pre-primary sections and has not been shifted to a new location, it remains a vital educational hub for the local community. Its focus on basic education, combined with its dedication to providing essential resources, makes it a valuable asset for the development of young minds in the Karnadera village.

The school’s commitment to accessible and quality education, despite its limited resources, highlights the importance of educational institutions in rural areas. Karnadera PS stands as a testament to the dedication of educators and the power of education to empower children from underserved communities.
