KHAJURIGUDA PS: A Rural Primary School in Odisha

KHAJURIGUDA PS is a government-run primary school located in the rural heartland of Odisha. The school serves students from Class 1 to Class 5 and is categorized as co-educational. It was established in 2006 and boasts a library containing 57 books, providing educational resources for its young learners.

The school has a total of two teachers, all of whom are male, and the instruction medium is Odia. Notably, the school provides meals for its students, prepared on the premises, ensuring proper nutrition for their academic journey. Despite being a rural school, KHAJURIGUDA PS offers facilities like ramps for disabled individuals, demonstrating its commitment to inclusivity.

The school’s infrastructure includes two classrooms, two boys’ toilets, and two girls’ toilets. While there is no access to electricity or a boundary wall, the presence of hand pumps provides a reliable source of drinking water for the students and staff. Although the school doesn’t have a computer-aided learning facility or a playground, the availability of a library and the dedication of the teachers create a conducive learning environment.

The KHAJURIGUDA PS is under the management of the Department of Education and has a unique characteristic: its students are enrolled in the “Others” board for Class 10. This indicates a possible focus on specific learning programs that cater to the local needs and context.

The lack of a pre-primary section, a common feature in many rural schools, highlights the need for early childhood education in the region. However, the presence of a library, ramps for disabled individuals, and a commitment to providing meals demonstrates a dedication to providing a basic level of education and support to its students.

KHAJURIGUDA PS, despite its limited resources, plays a crucial role in providing primary education to the children of the surrounding village. Its dedication to ensuring an inclusive environment and providing basic amenities is a testament to the importance of education in rural communities. The school stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity for the young minds of the village, nurturing their potential and contributing to their future development.
