GOVT PS (TW), Pathruda: A Rural Primary School in Andhra Pradesh

Located in the Pathruda village of Andhra Pradesh, GOVT PS (TW) is a rural primary school catering to students from Class 1 to Class 5. Established in 1986, the school is managed by the Tribal/Social Welfare Department and provides a co-educational environment for its students.

The school’s curriculum is delivered in Telugu, with a focus on primary education. Despite being a rural school, GOVT PS (TW) does not have access to electricity or drinking water. While the school does not offer a pre-primary section, it does boast a single male teacher who dedicates their efforts to teaching the students.

The school’s academic offerings are limited to the primary level (1-5). The school follows “Others” as its board for Class 10, and the same applies for Class 10+2. Interestingly, the school has not been shifted to a new location and remains in its original rural setting.

Despite the lack of essential amenities like electricity and drinking water, the school plays a vital role in providing basic education to children in the Pathruda community. The presence of a dedicated teacher demonstrates the commitment to providing quality education, even in challenging circumstances.

The school’s lack of access to computers and modern technology limits its ability to incorporate computer-aided learning. However, it can leverage the power of storytelling and interactive learning methods to engage students and make learning enjoyable.

The management of the school, the Tribal/Social Welfare Department, could consider exploring possibilities to improve the school’s infrastructure and resources. Access to electricity would not only improve the learning environment but also enable the implementation of digital learning tools. Similarly, a reliable water source would benefit the students and the community alike.

While GOVT PS (TW) faces several challenges, its commitment to education remains strong. The school’s dedication to educating children in a rural setting makes it a vital resource for the community. It’s a testament to the power of education to uplift individuals and communities, even in the face of adversity.
