GOVT PS (TW) Similiguda: A Rural Primary School in Odisha

GOVT PS (TW) Similiguda, located in the Similiguda village of Odisha, is a primary school catering to students from Class 1 to Class 5. Established in 1997, the school is managed by the Tribal/Social Welfare Department, highlighting its commitment to providing education to underserved communities.

The school operates as a co-educational institution, welcoming both boys and girls. It is situated in a rural area, reflecting the needs of the local community. The school emphasizes Telugu as the primary language of instruction, ensuring accessibility for students from the region.

Despite its rural location, GOVT PS (TW) Similiguda is equipped with a single male teacher, dedicated to imparting knowledge to the students. The absence of pre-primary sections, computer-aided learning, and electricity underscores the need for further development and resource allocation to improve the school’s infrastructure.

While the school lacks access to electricity, it is noteworthy that it is not reliant on pre-primary sections. The focus on primary education, along with the availability of a single teacher, reflects the school’s commitment to providing foundational education to the students.

Furthermore, the school’s adherence to the “Others” board for both Class 10 and Class 10+2 reflects its independent educational framework, possibly aligning with the needs of the local community.

The lack of drinking water facilities highlights the need for urgent attention to basic necessities for the students. The school’s dedication to the well-being of its students is further emphasized by its non-residential status, ensuring a safe and secure learning environment.

The school, while facing challenges in infrastructure and resources, demonstrates the dedication of its single teacher and the commitment of the Tribal/Social Welfare Department to provide primary education to the children of the Similiguda village.
