BHAGIRATHIPUR TENTEIBERENI PPS: A Rural Primary School in Odisha

Nestled in the rural landscape of Odisha, BHAGIRATHIPUR TENTEIBERENI PPS stands as a beacon of education for the local community. This government-run primary school, established in 2007, caters to the needs of young learners from Class 1 to Class 5.

The school boasts two classrooms, two boys’ toilets, and two girls’ toilets, providing a basic but functional learning environment. The institution operates without electricity or a boundary wall, reflecting the challenges faced by many rural schools in India. Despite these limitations, the school prioritizes student learning, offering a library stocked with 100 books, a vital resource for fostering reading habits.

The academic program at BHAGIRATHIPUR TENTEIBERENI PPS focuses on providing a primary education. Instruction is delivered in Odia, the native language of the region. Two dedicated teachers, one male and one female, guide the students on their academic journey. While the school does not offer a pre-primary section, it has a “meal” program, where meals are provided and prepared within the school premises, ensuring students have access to nutritious food during their learning hours.

The school emphasizes the importance of a well-rounded education. It is designated as a “co-educational” institution, welcoming both boys and girls. However, the school lacks a playground, a key component of promoting physical activity and social interaction among students. Despite this absence, the school prioritizes the safety and well-being of its students, providing drinking water through hand pumps.

It stands as a vital resource for the community, shaping the minds of young learners and empowering them to build a brighter future. The school’s commitment to its students, its dedication to providing a strong foundation in education, and its commitment to serving the community highlight the vital role it plays in the rural landscape of Odisha.
