BAYANGADIHI P.S.: A Rural Primary School in Odisha

Nestled within the village of BAYANGADIHI, in the district of Cuttack in Odisha, lies a government primary school named BAYANGADIHI P.S. This educational institution, established in 1959, plays a crucial role in providing basic education to the children of the rural community.

BAYANGADIHI P.S. is a co-educational school catering to students from Class 1 to Class 5. The primary medium of instruction is Odia, ensuring that students receive education in their native language. The school boasts a total of 5 teachers, including 3 male teachers and 2 female teachers, dedicated to nurturing young minds.

While the school does not offer pre-primary education, it provides a meal program for its students, ensuring their nutritional needs are met. The school is situated in a rural area, reflecting the importance of education in remote communities.

Learning Environment:

The school is equipped with 4 classrooms, ensuring sufficient space for students to learn. It also has a single girls’ toilet, highlighting the school’s commitment to providing essential facilities. However, the school lacks essential amenities like computer-aided learning, electricity, and a boundary wall, posing challenges for the learning environment.

The absence of a library and a playground further limits the students’ access to additional learning resources and recreational activities. Despite these limitations, the school provides access to hand pumps for drinking water, addressing a crucial aspect of hygiene and sanitation.

The Path Forward:

While BAYANGADIHI P.S. serves a vital purpose in the community, it faces challenges in providing a comprehensive and modern educational experience. The lack of essential amenities, such as electricity and computer-aided learning, hinders the school’s ability to keep up with current educational trends.

The absence of a library and playground further limits the learning and recreational opportunities available to students.

Improving these facilities would significantly enhance the school’s ability to provide a well-rounded educational experience for its students. Investment in infrastructure, technology, and resources would empower students and ensure a brighter future for the children of BAYANGADIHI.
