BALIBIL P.S.: A Rural Primary School Serving the Community

Nestled in the heart of Odisha, BALIBIL P.S. is a government-run primary school catering to the educational needs of students from Class 1 to Class 5. Established in 1935, this rural school provides a foundation for young learners, emphasizing the importance of education within the community.

The school boasts a strong emphasis on learning, with a dedicated team of two teachers, including one head teacher, ALAKA MOHANTY. These teachers are committed to providing quality education to students through an Odia medium of instruction. The school also provides a meal for students, ensuring their nutritional needs are met alongside their academic development.

While the school is located in a rural area, it strives to create a conducive learning environment. The school is equipped with a library, offering a collection of 85 books to foster a love of reading among students. However, the school lacks access to electricity and computer-aided learning facilities, highlighting the need for further development.

The school also recognizes the importance of inclusivity. Although ramps for the disabled are not available, the school prioritizes providing access to all students.

The school’s infrastructure reflects its rural setting. While a barbed wire fence provides security, the school lacks a playground, limiting opportunities for physical activity and play. The presence of a well-maintained hand pump ensures a reliable source of drinking water for students.

BALIBIL P.S. operates under the management of the Department of Education and follows the ‘Others’ board for Class 10. Notably, the school does not offer pre-primary classes. This underscores the school’s focus on providing primary education, ensuring that students have a solid foundation before progressing to higher levels of education.

Despite the challenges, BALIBIL P.S. remains dedicated to its mission of providing quality education to students in a rural setting. The school’s commitment to the community is evident in its focus on Odia instruction, the provision of meals, and the presence of a library. The school’s continuous efforts to improve its infrastructure and resources would ensure a brighter future for its students.
