Adangapada Project PS: A Rural Primary School in Odisha

Located in the heart of rural Odisha, Adangapada Project PS stands as a beacon of education for young learners. This government-run primary school, established in 2008, offers a fundamental education to children from Class 1 to Class 5. With two dedicated classrooms, the school provides a welcoming learning environment for its students.

The school’s primary medium of instruction is Odia, ensuring that students are taught in their native language and can readily comprehend the lessons. Adangapada Project PS is a co-educational school, fostering an inclusive learning environment for both boys and girls. The school employs a total of two teachers - one male and one female - dedicated to nurturing the young minds entrusted to their care.

While the school does not offer pre-primary education, it provides a valuable service by offering meals prepared within the school premises, ensuring that students receive proper nourishment during their time at school. The school also boasts a well-stocked library containing 25 books, providing students with access to a wealth of knowledge and encouraging a love for reading.

The school prioritizes the well-being of its students, offering basic amenities like separate toilets for boys and girls. The school also features ramps for disabled students, promoting inclusivity and ensuring that every child can access the educational facilities. However, the school lacks electricity and a boundary wall, indicating a need for further infrastructure development.

Despite the absence of a playground, the school emphasizes the importance of physical activity by providing drinking water through hand pumps, encouraging students to stay hydrated and active. The school’s focus on basic education is evident in its academic title: “Primary only (1-5)”.

Adangapada Project PS exemplifies the government’s commitment to providing quality education to children in rural areas. The school’s dedication to providing a basic education, coupled with its focus on inclusivity and student well-being, makes it a vital resource for the community. The school’s lack of certain amenities presents an opportunity for further development, potentially leading to even greater educational opportunities for the students of Adangapada Project PS.
